How to Identify Which Platform a Booking Came From

1 min readUpdated 14 Oct 2026Reviewed by Homeyhuts Editorial Team

Learn how to identify the booking source so you know whether a reservation came from an OTA, Homeyhuts or was added manually.

Knowing where a booking came from is useful for reconciliation, guest communication and understanding which channels are generating reservations.

Bookings can come through connected OTAs or may be entered manually in Homeyhuts. The reservation information should indicate the relevant source or channel where that information is available.

How to check the booking source:

1. Open the Reservations tab.

2. Find the booking you want to check.

3. Open the reservation details.

4. Look for the booking source, channel or platform information.

5. Use this information when reviewing channel performance or reconciling bookings.

Why this matters:

• It helps you understand which OTAs are generating bookings.

• It makes it easier to match a reservation with the corresponding OTA.

• It helps with payout and revenue reconciliation.

• It can help you investigate an unexpected booking or reservation update.

Example:

If a reservation is marked as coming from an OTA, you can compare it with the corresponding reservation on that platform when investigating guest details, cancellation information or payout amounts.

Tip: When reviewing your business performance, compare booking volume by source rather than looking only at total bookings.
