Why Is My Property Showing Different Information on an OTA?

1 min readUpdated 15 Oct 2026Reviewed by Homeyhuts Editorial Team

Understand why property information may look different on a booking platform and how to identify the source of the difference.

On this page
  1. 1. Confirm you are checking the correct listing
  2. 2. Identify the exact difference
  3. 3. Check whether the field syncs
  4. 4. Compare the same conditions
  5. 5. Check for pending updates or approvals
  6. 6. Report a confirmed mismatch

A property may show different information on an OTA because the field is managed by the OTA, an update is still pending, the wrong listing is being viewed, or pricing and availability rules are being applied differently.

1. Confirm you are checking the correct listing

Compare the property name, location, room or unit, and OTA listing ID where available. Similar property names can make it easy to compare the wrong listings.

2. Identify the exact difference

Write down what differs: price, availability, property description, photos, amenities, occupancy, or booking conditions.

3. Check whether the field syncs

Some information may sync through Homeyhuts, while other fields may need to be managed or approved directly on the OTA. Check the relevant settings or ask Homeyhuts Support if you are unsure.

4. Compare the same conditions

For price and availability, compare the same dates, occupancy, room, rate plan, and restrictions. Taxes, fees, discounts, and OTA display rules may affect the final result.

5. Check for pending updates or approvals

Review the connection status and any OTA notices. Content changes may require approval before they appear to guests.

6. Report a confirmed mismatch

If a supported field still differs after the connection and mapping have been checked, share screenshots of both systems, the affected field, and the relevant dates or listing details with Homeyhuts Support.

Tip: First identify whether the difference is a sync issue, an OTA display rule, or a field that must be updated directly on the OTA.
