How to Price for Long Stays

1 min readUpdated 14 Oct 2026Reviewed by Homeyhuts Editorial Team

Learn how to price longer stays while balancing occupancy, operational savings and total revenue. Long stays can be valuable because they reduce the frequency of check-ins, check-outs and cleaning between guests. They can also provide more predictable occupancy.

How to Set Long-Stay Pricing

Start with your normal nightly rate and consider the value of securing multiple nights.

When deciding whether to offer a long-stay discount, consider:

  • Number of nights.
  • Expected occupancy.
  • Cleaning and turnover savings.
  • Season.
  • Demand for those dates.
  • Revenue you could generate from separate bookings.

A modest discount can make a longer booking more attractive without reducing your overall earnings too much.

Example

If your normal rate is ₹5,000 per night, you might offer a lower effective nightly rate for a 7-night booking during a low-demand period. During peak season, you may not need to offer the same discount.

Tip

Long-stay discounts should be demand-based. Avoid giving a large discount during periods when you could easily fill the dates at your regular rate.
