What Happens to Your Calendar When You Receive a Booking?

1 min readUpdated 14 Oct 2026Reviewed by Homeyhuts Editorial Team

Learn how a new booking affects your Homeyhuts Unified Calendar and how availability is updated across connected channels. When a booking is received, the corresponding inventory is occupied for the booked dates. Homeyhuts uses the booking and availability information to keep the property's calendar updated. If your property is connected through the Channel Manager, the booking and resulting availability changes are synchronized with the connected OTAs.

What Happens in the Unified Calendar?

When a booking is received:

  • The booked dates become unavailable for that inventory.
  • The reservation is added to the calendar.
  • Related availability is updated.
  • For Magic Cluster properties, connected Parent and Child inventory may also be affected.
  • Connected OTAs receive the updated availability through the Channel Manager.

Example: Individual Room Booking

If Room 2 is booked for 10–12 December, Room 2 becomes unavailable for those dates. If the property is part of a Magic Cluster, any listing that requires Room 2 may also become unavailable.

Example: Entire Property Booking

If the entire villa is booked, the individual room listings cannot be sold separately for the same dates because the full property has already been reserved.

What Should You Do as a Host?

Review the new reservation in the Unified Calendar and check that the affected dates and inventory are correctly reflected.

For multi-inventory properties, pay particular attention to Parent and Child Listings.

Tip

Keep your Homeyhuts calendar as the central source for managing connected availability. Avoid making conflicting manual availability changes across multiple OTAs after a booking has already been received.
