Creating an Emergency Contact List for Your Property
Create an easy-to-access emergency contact list so guests and staff know whom to contact when something goes wrong.
An emergency contact list should be prepared before the property receives guests.
- Consider including:
- Host/property manager.
- Caretaker.
- Local maintenance contact.
- Plumber.
- Electrician.
- Security/building contact where relevant.
- Nearby medical/emergency services.
- Fire/emergency services.
- Local authority contact where appropriate.
- Internet/service provider for critical properties.
- For each contact, record:
- Name.
- Role.
- Phone number.
- Backup contact if available.
- When to contact them.
Keep the list accessible to relevant staff and include appropriate emergency information for guests.
Tip: Verify important numbers periodically. An emergency list is only useful if the numbers are current.
