Understanding Maximum Stay Restrictions
Learn how maximum stay restrictions work and how they can help you control the length of guest stays on Homeyhuts. A maximum stay restriction defines the longest number of nights a guest can book for selected dates. For example, a maximum stay of 7 nights prevents guests from making a reservation longer than seven nights for the applicable period. In Homeyhuts Channel Settings, a maximum stay value of 0 means there is no maximum-stay restriction. A value greater than 0 sets the maximum number of nights allowed.
Why Use a Maximum Stay Restriction?
Maximum stay rules can be useful when you want to:
Keep availability open for multiple guests during peak periods.
Prevent very long bookings from blocking high-demand dates.
Control inventory during festivals, holidays or special events.
Maintain flexibility for shorter reservations.
For example, if a property is in very high demand during a festival, you may choose to limit bookings to a certain number of nights so more guests can access the available dates.
Before Setting a Maximum Stay
Consider your normal booking pattern, seasonality, expected demand and whether long stays are valuable to your property.
During low-demand periods, a strict maximum stay may unnecessarily reduce occupancy.
Tip
Use maximum stay restrictions selectively. A restriction that works well during a high-demand period may not be appropriate during your low season.
