Why Are Guests Unable to Book Available Dates?
Learn why guests may be unable to book dates that appear available in your Homeyhuts calendar and how to troubleshoot booking restrictions. An open date does not always mean every possible stay combination can be booked. A guest's requested stay can be affected by minimum stay, maximum stay, advance notice, blocked dates, or other booking restrictions.
What to Check
If a guest says they cannot book an available date, check:
1. **Minimum Night Stay** – Does the requested stay meet the minimum number of nights?
2. **Maximum Night Stay** – Does the requested stay exceed the maximum allowed nights?
3. **Advance Notice** – Is the guest trying to book too close to check-in?
4. **Availability** – Are any of the requested dates actually blocked or already booked?
5. **Connected OTA Rules** – Has a restriction been synced to the OTA?
6. **Adjacent Dates** – Does the requested stay include another date with a restriction?
Example
Your calendar may show Saturday as available, but if Saturday has a 2-night minimum and the guest wants to stay only Saturday night, the booking may not be accepted.
If Your Property Uses the Channel Manager
Homeyhuts keeps connected prices, availability and bookings synchronized across supported channels. If a restriction was changed, review the relevant settings and allow the updated information to sync. citeturn0search1turn0search3
Tip
Always check the guest's complete requested stay rather than checking only the single date they are asking about.
