Why Does Inventory Need to Match in a Magic Cluster?

1 min readUpdated 14 Oct 2026Reviewed by Homeyhuts Editorial Team

Learn why your Parent and Child inventory must accurately represent the same physical property for Magic Cluster to work correctly. Magic Cluster is based on inventory relationships. The system needs to understand which rooms, units or spaces are shared between listings.

What Does Matching Inventory Mean?

Suppose your property has five bedrooms.

Your inventory could be represented as:

  • Entire villa = Rooms 1–5.
  • Room 1 = Room 1.
  • Room 2 = Room 2.
  • Rooms 3 + 4 = Rooms 3 and 4.
  • Room 5 = Room 5.

This structure clearly tells the system which listings overlap.

What Happens If the Mapping Is Wrong?

If a listing is mapped incorrectly, a booking may not block the correct related listing.

For example, if a two-room combination actually contains Rooms 2 and 3 but the listing is mapped as Rooms 3 and 4, the availability relationship no longer represents the actual property.

Why Inventory Matching Matters

Correct inventory mapping helps:

  • Keep related listings synchronized.
  • Reduce booking conflicts.
  • Prevent the same physical room from being sold twice.
  • Make Parent and Child availability predictable.
  • Support Entire Place Mode correctly.

Tip

Do not create a cluster based only on listing names. Confirm exactly which physical rooms or units each listing represents before connecting them.
