How Does Magic Cluster Help Prevent Double Bookings?

1 min readUpdated 14 Oct 2026Reviewed by Homeyhuts Editorial Team

Learn how Magic Cluster connects related listings so the same physical space is not sold twice through different configurations or booking channels. The biggest risk with multi-listing properties is selling the same inventory through different listings at the same time.

For example, a villa may be available as:

  • Entire villa.
  • Room 1.
  • Room 2.
  • Room 3.
  • Room 4.
  • Room 5.

Without a connected inventory relationship, a guest could book a room while another guest books the entire villa for the same dates.

How Magic Cluster Prevents the Conflict

When a Child Listing receives a booking, the Parent Listing and other conflicting configurations are updated.

When the Parent Listing receives a booking, the Child Listings are closed for those dates.

This means the system keeps the related configurations connected instead of treating them as completely independent listings.

OTA Synchronization

When the listings are connected to OTAs through Homeyhuts, availability changes can be synchronized across the connected channels.

Example

If Room 2 is booked on one OTA for 12–14 October, the related entire-property listing should no longer remain available for those dates because the full property cannot be sold.

Tip

Magic Cluster can only prevent conflicts correctly when the cluster and inventory mapping are set up accurately. Incorrect mapping can undermine the protection.
