Welcome to Taranga Coastal Edit, a lovingly restored 100-year-old private coastal home where old-world Mangalorean character meets relaxed contemporary comfort. Set within a lush one-acre estate with expansive lawn areas, just a short 10 minute walk from Someshwar Beach, this spacious four-bedroom villa is designed for slow mornings, long lunches, family time and unhurried evenings by the coast. Please note that stag bookings (all male) and party/events are not allowed.

The Space

Taranga Coastal Edit is a private home set within a one-acre estate, where heritage, contemporary design and the easy rhythm of coastal living come together. Tucked away near Someshwar Beach, yet just a convenient 15-20 minute drive from central Mangalore, it offers a peaceful coastal escape without feeling far from the city.

Lovingly restored by its architect owners, the house retains its original character while introducing a refined, contemporary sensibility. Natural textures, handcrafted details, vintage accents, art and carefully chosen furnishings create a home that feels warm, relaxed and distinctly personal.

It is a home designed to be enjoyed - with generous spaces to gather, quiet corners to retreat to and a tropical garden that becomes part of the experience.

Taranga is also home to Obi and Yoko, our two friendly Indie hounds. They roam freely around the estate and may occasionally wander over to say hello. They're an easygoing part of life at Taranga and add to the warm, relaxed character of the home.

The Jehangir Heritage Room

Overlooks the property's magnificent 80-year-old mango tree.

The Heritage Spring Room

Looks towards the property's historic 1926 well, fed by a natural spring and especially beautiful during the monsoon.

The Canopy Garden Suite

Framed by mature jackfruit trees and lush greenery.

The Tropics Garden Suite

Opens onto a balcony overlooking broad banana leaves and lush tropical planting.

Living & Gathering

The heart of Taranga is its distinctive octagonal living room, with a tall sloping roof and arched windows and views into the garden.

The Jaali Lounge offers a quieter setting for morning coffee, board games, reading or conversation.

Dining

Breakfast is complimentary, with a choice eggs , seasonal fruit, fresh accompaniments, tea and coffee.

Outside food / catering is allowed from nearby restaurants.

The Coast

Someshwar Beach is approximately a 10-minute walk from Taranga.

Spend the morning with coffee in the garden. Walk down to the beach. Return for lunch. Read beneath the trees. Gather around the dining table as the evening sets in.

Taranga is a place to slow down, reconnect and enjoy the simple pleasures of a beautiful coastal home.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive access to the entire villa and the surrounding one-acre estate during their stay.

This includes all four bedrooms and attached bathrooms, the living and dining areas, Jaali Lounge, verandah, garden seating, outdoor dining area and other outdoor spaces within the property.

The kitchen is not accessible to guests, except where access is required for the preparation of food for babies or infants. Please contact our home cook for any assistance.

Free private parking is available for up to four cars, at the owners risk.

A caretaker will welcome guests at check-in and is available to assist with any needs during their stay.

Guest Interaction

Our caretaker will welcome you on arrival, assist with check-in and help you settle into the villa.

During your stay, the caretaker will be available between 8.00 am and 10.00 pm to assist with any questions or practical requirements while respecting your privacy.

We are happy to help with local recommendations and arrangements where possible, while allowing you to enjoy Taranga at your own pace.
